SMS Terms And Conditions

These SMS Terms and Conditions explain how text-message communications from Collins Dentistry & Aesthetics work, including consent, message types, frequency, charges, privacy, opting out, and requesting assistance.

Marketing SMS consent is optional and is not required to schedule an appointment, receive treatment, purchase a service, or maintain a patient relationship.

Frequency, Charges And Delivery

Messaging Costs And Availability

Collins Dentistry & Aesthetics does not charge a separate fee for participating in its SMS programs, but your wireless carrier may impose charges.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies. The number of messages may depend on your appointment schedule, requests, responses, ongoing conversation, selected communication preferences, and the type of SMS program in which you participate.

You may receive multiple messages when actively communicating with the practice or resolving a scheduling, billing, or administrative matter.

Message And Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply according to the terms of your wireless service plan. Contact your wireless carrier if you have questions regarding text-message or data charges.

Any charges imposed by your carrier are your responsibility.

Carrier Availability

SMS services may not be available through every carrier, mobile plan, device, location, or telephone number. Message delivery may be delayed or fail because of carrier systems, network availability, device settings, number changes, service interruptions, filtering, or circumstances outside the practice’s control.

Wireless carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

Number Changes

Notify the practice promptly if you change, deactivate, transfer, or stop using a mobile telephone number previously provided to Collins Dentistry & Aesthetics.

You agree not to provide a telephone number belonging to another person without that individual’s authorization.

Managing Your Messages

STOP And HELP

You control whether you continue receiving SMS messages. Standard keywords provide a direct way to stop messages or request assistance.

An opt-out request applies to the messaging program and mobile number associated with that request. Separate programs or numbers may require separate opt-out requests.

STOP Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Other commonly recognized opt-out keywords may include END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, or REVOKE.

Healthcare Communications

SMS Is Not A Secure Patient Portal

Standard text messaging may not provide the same privacy and security protections as an approved secure patient portal or encrypted healthcare communication system.

Sensitive Information

Do not send Social Security numbers, passwords, complete payment-card numbers, detailed medical histories, photographs containing sensitive information, or other highly sensitive information through ordinary SMS unless the practice specifically directs you to use an approved secure method.

Device And Lock-Screen Privacy

Text messages may appear on a device lock screen or may be visible to anyone with access to your telephone, wireless account, connected devices, message backups, or shared family plan.

By consenting to SMS communications, you acknowledge that messages may reveal your relationship with a dental practice, appointment information, or other limited administrative details.

Clinical Questions

SMS is not intended for complex diagnosis, treatment decisions, detailed clinical advice, or urgent evaluation. The practice may ask you to call the office, schedule an examination, or use another approved communication method.

Emergencies And Urgent Concerns

Messages may not be reviewed immediately or outside normal office operations. Do not rely on SMS for emergency or time-sensitive care.

Emergency Instructions

Call 911 for a life-threatening emergency. For significant dental pain, swelling, trauma, bleeding, fever, or another urgent dental concern, call the appropriate office directly.

Participant Responsibilities

Keeping Your Information Accurate

Accurate contact information helps protect privacy and ensures that appointment and office messages reach the intended recipient.

Accurate Information

You are responsible for providing an accurate mobile number and for notifying the practice when the number changes or should no longer be used.

Protecting Your Device

You are responsible for maintaining reasonable security for your device, wireless account, message backups, passwords, screen locks, and connected applications.

Appropriate Use

You may not use the SMS program to transmit unlawful, abusive, threatening, fraudulent, harmful, malicious, or infringing content or to interfere with the practice’s communication systems.

Availability And Revisions

Program Changes And Limitations

Messaging technology, carrier requirements, practice operations, and applicable legal requirements may change over time.

No Guaranteed Delivery

Collins Dentistry & Aesthetics does not guarantee that every SMS message will be transmitted, received, read, or delivered at a particular time.

The practice is not responsible for losses caused by delayed, blocked, misdirected, incomplete, or undelivered messages when the issue results from circumstances outside its reasonable control.

Program Modification

The practice may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of an SMS program when reasonably necessary for operational, legal, technical, security, carrier, or patient-communication purposes.

Updates To These Terms

These Terms may be revised periodically. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Additional notice will be provided when required by applicable law.

Continued participation after updated Terms become effective will be governed by the revised Terms, except where additional consent is legally required.

Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by applicable federal law and the laws of the State of Washington, without limiting any consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.
